What are the Online Learning/Dual Enrollment programs at Pittsfield Middle High School?
Pittsfield Middle High School’s Online and Dual Enrollment learning programs provide students with the opportunity to enroll in online or dual credit courses during their normal school day, enhancing their education. Our school is equipped with the technology to support online learning, offering a computer lab with 20 operational computers. Online learning provides a means for students to continue, expand, or enhance their education. Online learning and dual enrollment classes offer students the ability to engage in opportunities to which they might not otherwise have access.

Pittsfield Middle High School students can enroll in the following online schools and courseware for enrichment, graduation requirements credit recovery, AP/CP, or dual credit: (VLACS is currently the only online program offering dual credit classes in partnership with New Hampshire Technical Institute and Southern New Hampshire University)

***Please note that as of 8/27/2014, Pittsfield Middle High School has a new online class policy. Students must have online courses/distance education courses approved by the Director of College and Career Readiness prior to registering for an online class to receive credit. To graduate with a Pittsfield Middle High School diploma, online courses/ distance education classes may include a maximum of 5 credits towards the 21.25 credits required for graduation. Courses not available at PMHS or that conflict with a student’s schedule are considered non inclusive. Extenuating circumstances will require approval by the Director of College and Career Readiness. Students that do not get prior approval for online classes through the College & Career Readiness office will not earn credit for the class and it will not be recorded or recognized on transcripts***
Sophomore: Savannah Godin “I chose to take online classes because I was interested in the online experience and I also wanted to get honors credit. Honors classes are not offered here so I needed to take them online.”
